Setup steps

1. Add a custom provider

Click the Kilo Code gear and open Settings → Providers → Custom provider.

2. Set the name and protocol

Enter uniroute in Provider ID and UniRoute in Display name. Select OpenAI Compatible in Provider API. If that provider ID already exists, use another unique lowercase identifier.

3. Fill in the address and key

Enter the address above in Base URL and paste your UniRoute key in API key. Leave Headers (optional) empty.

Base URL ends in /v1; Kilo Code adds /chat/completions.

4. Add the model and submit

Click Fetch models and add deepseek-v4-flash, or click Add model and fill both ID and Name. Keep Reasoning and Image off for the initial text setup. Click Submit.

5. Select the model in your conversation

Return to the conversation and select the model under UniRoute in the model picker before starting a task.

Open usage logs to review the model, request status and charge. The test is a real, billed API request.

After the reply, ask Kilo Code to read a small workspace file and name it. Approve the read when prompted, then check usage logs.

Switch back / restore a backup

Select your previous provider and model in the conversation’s model picker. Keep the UniRoute provider to select it again later.
